Mueller confirms preliminary probe of JPMorgan

WASHINGTON — FBI Director Robert Mueller said Wednesday the bureau has launched a preliminary investigation of JPMorgan Chase & Co. following a $2 billion trading loss at the bank.

Mueller’s comment at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing was the first on-the-record confirmation of the probe.

On Tuesday, a law enforcement official said that the FBI’s New York office is heading an inquiry into the JPMorgan loss.

“All I can say is we’ve opened up a preliminary investigation,” Mueller told the Senate panel. Mueller said that

Spoon Me Frozen Yogurt giving tips to help Fantasy Fountain

During May, Spoon Me Frozen Yogurt in downtown Redding will donate all its tip money to the Fantasy Fountain Re-creation Project.

The $300,000 project has $100,000 of in-kind services from local contractors and businesses.

FIRST Minister Carwyn Jones criticism of Cardiff Airport has been rejected by the chief executive of a low-fare Spanish airline which will operate flights from Cardiff to Barcelona.

At the Wales Millennium Centre, Alex Cruz, chief executive of Barcelona-based Vueling, said: We are more than satisfied with Cardiff Airport.

We would not fly into an airport that we did not feel was suitable for our customers.

Earlier this month, Mr Jones said he would not want to bring people through Cardiff Airport and called on the airports owners to invest in it or sell.

Mr Cruz said: Cardiff Airport has a magnificent management team, that is willing to work with us to create a platform for growth.

We want to make sure that Cardiff is promoted prominently as part of our marketing and that more people visit.

We will be promoting Cardiff as a fantastic destination and it is our intention to create a significant footprint at Cardiff Airport.

Mr Cruz said they had had no second thoughts about operating from Cardiff Airport and that Bristol Airport was not on our radar.

He went on: We choose our battles very carefully and so far we have been successful.

Mr Cruz had been due to fly into Cardiff Airport on Vuelings inaugural flight yesterday (Thurs), but that was scuppered by a general strike in Spain.
