Attorneys Craig Gillen and Roy Barnes filed a motion in Cobb County Superior Court Wednesday morning asking a judge to throw out a 31-count, Jan. 6 racketeering and theft indictment against Brown, who has led the Marietta-based electric membership cooperative for nearly two decades.

The filing is a relatively common legal tactic in criminal cases, although calling a press conference about it is not.

The filing said the charges involved acts too old to prosecute and that Brown had been cleared of any liability by a December 2009 settlement in a civil lawsuit and by the co-op’s board. It also said the state’s business judgment rule shields Brown from criminal liability.

Here is the bare bone no hype information and a link to the website I built using these techniques. So I not going to lie to you about how much money you can make or how much I made. Weve all heard the phrases Content is King and If content is King, then relevance is Queen!. So Im going to share with you how to build a site based on these principles for profit! I built a 1000+ page content rich website in about 2 days.

I used DreamWeaver as my html editor. Any good html editor will work such as FrontPage. Go to download.com and search for html editor. Coffeecup is a very popular free editor. Basically you need a good editor that will update links site wide automatically.

HONG KONG -(Dow Jones)- Tycoon Li Ka-shing’s charitable foundation is set to become the second-biggest shareholder of China Timber Resources Group Ltd. (0269.HK) after the fund and several investors entered into deals to buy shares in the Hong Kong-listed company to help fund its plan to buy toll-road assets in Inner Mongolia.

China Timber said in a statement Friday that Li Ka Shing Foundation Ltd. agreed to buy 3.0 billion new shares in the company at HK$0.40 each, valuing the investment at HK$1.2 billion. The foundation will own a 12.85% stake in China Timber after the company completes its share placements.

The sale price represents an 8.1% premium to China Timber’s closing share price Tuesday of HK$0.37 before it was suspended ahead of the sale announcement.

In addition, CEF Holdings Ltd., a joint venture between Li’s flagship firm, property developer Cheung Kong (Holdings) Ltd.

Sterling Bancshares (NASDAQ:SBIB) is shopping itself to potential bidders and could announce a deal as soon as the end of January, according to reports.

According to dealReporter, a financial newswire owned by the Financial Times, the bank holding company has hired Morgan Stanley (MS) and potential bidders for Sterling include North Carolina-based BB&T Corp. (BBT).

Shares of Sterling rose two cents on Tuesday, or a fraction of 1%, to close the session at $7.24 per share. The stock was up another 28 cents or nearly 4% in after-hours trading.
